The KCA sources said that fresh phutti was still awaited and with short and slow arrivals of fresh phutti, the trading showed some improvement. There had been deals in about 3,000 lint bales. However, it showed some improvement as over 5,000 bales were traded. The spinners and the millers said that fresh phutti was still awaited in bulk. However, the sources said that the supply was being improved gradually.The ginners and the growers said that fresh phutti has started arriving and with the passage of time it would gain momentum while the trading would improve tremendously. In all over 5,000 bales were traded in the price-range of Rs 3,750 to 3,800 per maund. All the lint bales were from Punjab while there had been no deals in the bales from Sindh.According to reports, mostly the deals in fresh phutti were made in Punjab. The price committee decided to continue with the existing prices of Rs 3,912 per maund while the official spot prices would continue at Rs 3,650 per 40kg. Source : The Post
